Gokseong-gun Selects National Naju Hospital as Contractor for Mental Health Welfare Center
Effectively Fulfilling the Role as a Public Hospital Earns High Praise from Judges
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it has reselected the National Naju Hospital as the entrusted institution for the Mental Health Welfare Center.
As the contract with the existing entrusted institution, National Naju Hospital, is set to expire on July 31, Gokseong-gun publicly recruited operating institutions last December.
As a result of the application process, only one institution, National Naju Hospital, applied.
Gokseong-gun formed a selection committee of nine experts and, after a qualification review by the committee, finally selected National Naju Hospital as the entrusted institution.
National Naju Hospital will continue to operate the Gokseong-gun Mental Health Welfare Center for three years from August 2022 to July 2025.
Through the center, it will carry out tasks such as promoting the mental health of local residents, preventing mental illnesses, managing the registration of people with severe mental disabilities, and early intervention for suicide prevention.
National Naju Hospital was also selected as an excellent institution for community mental health in 2021 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare last year and received a ministerial award.
It received high evaluations from the judges for effectively fulfilling its role as a public hospital even in the rapidly changing infectious disease disaster situation caused by COVID-19, through a professional and organized system for mental health and close cooperation with the local community.
A representative of the Gokseong-gun Mental Health Welfare Center said, “We plan to respond more sensitively to the rapidly changing mental health crisis by strengthening psychological quarantine and suicide prevention management due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.”
