'Drive My Car' Korean Actors Head to the Oscars

Importer Yeonghwasa Joa announced on the 17th that actors Park Yurim, Jin Daeyeon, and Ahn Hwitae, who appeared in director Ryusuke Hamaguchi's film "Drive My Car," will attend the Academy Awards ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA, on the 27th. The film is nominated in four categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film. In "Drive My Car," Park Yurim portrays Lee Yuna, a Korean actress who passes the audition for the play "Uncle Vanya" and is cast as Sonya. Jin Daeyeon plays the literary director of "Uncle Vanya" alongside the protagonist Kafuku (Nishijima Hidetoshi), and Ahn Hwitae plays Ryu Jong, a Korean actor who wins the role of Astrov through the "Uncle Vanya" audition. "Drive My Car" is a film that highlights the process of Kafuku, a director and actor wounded by the death of his wife, growing closer to his exclusive driver Misaki (Miura Toko) and recovering from his desolate life.
