[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will support part of the monthly rent for single-person household unmarried youth.
On the 17th, Suwon City announced that it will recruit 100 young people to participate in the '2022 Suwon City Youth Monthly Rent Support Project,' which provides 100,000 KRW per month in rent support to youth aged 19 to 34 (born between January 1, 1987, and December 31, 2003) with a household income at or below 120% of the median income.
Applicants must be unmarried youth living alone with their resident registration in Suwon. The residence must have a lease deposit of 100 million KRW or less and a monthly rent of 500,000 KRW or less.
Youth who have previously participated in the monthly rent support project, basic livelihood security recipients, homeowners, participants in government youth housing (financial) support programs, and youth whose parents are landlords are excluded from eligibility.
Applications can be submitted from the 21st of this month to the 1st of next month through the 'Survey & Application' board on the Suwon Manmin Square website.
The city will review eligibility based on evaluation criteria and select recipients according to ranking, announcing the supported individuals in May.
After the selected youth pay their rent and submit payment proof such as a transfer confirmation, Suwon City will deposit the support funds into their accounts in June (covering March, April, and May) and August (covering June and July).
