[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 16th, Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon District, participated in the ‘No accepting or buying over-packaged gifts’ challenge at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center.
This challenge is a relay campaign aimed at reducing waste by cutting down the use of over-packaged products and realizing a carbon-neutral circular economy in daily life.
On this day, Mayor Kim encouraged active participation from residents by holding up a recyclable signboard with the campaign slogan ‘No accepting or buying over-packaged gifts.’
Mayor Kim said, “The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sharp increase in the use of disposable products and packaging materials, causing serious environmental damage. I hope all residents will join this challenge, where small daily efforts come together to achieve carbon neutrality.”
Having been nominated by Park Jeong-hyun, Mayor of Buyeo County, Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon District, nominated the next participants: Roh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo District; Uh Yoon-bin, Chief of Yangcheon Police Station; and Han Jeong-hee, Chief of Yangcheon Fire Station.
On the morning of the 16th, Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, held an appointment ceremony for the members of the Cultural City Committee in the district office’s planning situation room.
Since being designated as the 3rd Cultural City in December last year, the district has been accelerating efforts to realize Yeongdeungpo as a vibrant cultural production city. The Yeongdeungpo Cultural City Committee operates as a public-private cooperative system, performing roles such as reviewing and advising on the comprehensive cultural city plan and coordinating policies in the cultural and urban sectors.
At the ceremony, National Assembly member Kim Young-joo attended as a guest, adding prestige to the event. Following the appointment ceremony, the 2022 cultural city development plan was presented, and various opinions were exchanged to promote the creation of Yeongdeungpo as a cultural city.
Mayor Chae said, “I will do my best to gather the wisdom and valuable opinions of the Cultural City Committee members to create a ‘refined cultural city Yeongdeungpo.’”
Jungnang District (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the entrance ceremony for the 5th Jungnang Real Estate Asset CEO Course at the Jungnang District Office basement auditorium at 6 p.m. on the 15th.
This course invites top-level professors in domestic real estate and liberal arts fields to provide residents with information necessary for asset management, including real estate market changes and trend analysis, investment and tax-saving strategies, along with lectures that help with life planning, resulting in high satisfaction.
A total of 80 students were selected in the recruitment held last November for the 5th class. On the day, the students completed the entrance ceremony with a pre-ceremony performance and encouragement and congratulations from senior alumni. After completing six months of lectures, they are expected to finish the course around September.
