[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Ahn Cheol-soo, Chairman of the Presidential Transition Committee, stated on the 16th, "If possible, we plan to hold the (plaque unveiling ceremony) this weekend."
On his way to the transition committee office set up at the Financial Supervisory Service Training Center in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Chairman Ahn told reporters, "Since the transition work must be completed in just over 50 days, we need to finish the appointments and start working as soon as possible, preferably one day earlier."
Regarding the composition of the transition committee, he said, "We are currently preparing and doing our best to become a transition committee that serves the people," adding, "We will work hard in that direction."
When asked about the delay in announcing the appointment of transition committee members, he said, "Please wait just a little longer."
Regarding controversies over some transition committee appointments, he said, "The verification is under the jurisdiction of the President-elect's Secretariat, and they must have made the judgment there."
