3 Million Ukrainian Refugees... 1 Child Refugee Every Second

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), under the United Nations, announced that since the outbreak of the war on the 24th of last month, the number of refugees who fled Ukraine abroad has surpassed 3 million.
Paul Dillon, IOM spokesperson, stated in a virtual press briefing at the UN Geneva office that this figure is the sum of data provided by relevant authorities, including approximately 157,000 third-country nationals.

James Elder, spokesperson for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), explained, "Over the past 20 days, an average of more than 70,000 children per day have become refugees from Ukraine," adding, "almost one child per second." He further noted, "This crisis is unprecedented in speed and scale since World War II."
