Dongmyung University Operates Student Counseling Center for Motivation-Inducing Semester
An orientation program introducing the Student Counseling Center is being conducted for new students.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Dongmyung University Student Counseling Center conducted a program introducing the Student Counseling Center to freshmen in the Department of Counseling Psychology on the 11th.
Twenty-two first-year students in the Department of Counseling Psychology were introduced to the necessity of the related department and the role of the Student Counseling Center during the difficult times of COVID-19, including a facility tour, counseling procedure guidance, and an introduction to the counseling center's programs.
Professor Jeong Nansook, a counseling professor at Dongmyung University Student Counseling Center, said, “After four years, we will encourage participation in programs conducted by the Student Counseling Center so that students can accumulate diverse counseling experiences and become professional counselors.”
Since the 2nd, Dongmyung University has been implementing a hybrid motivational semester system, the only credit-recognized program in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area, designed to enhance all freshmen's understanding of their major and career paths as well as their motivation to learn.
Starting with meetings between professors, seniors, and peers by department, students also participate in ▲campus tours ▲department explorations, senior lectures, major experiences, group activities to enhance cooperation and sense of belonging ▲and various experiences such as producing song, dance, theater, and UCC by college.
There is also a ‘Special Talk Show’ involving the president, distinguished professor and national singer Insooni, college deans, freshmen, and current students.
