On the same day, at the Financial Supervisory Service Training Center in Tongui-dong, Seoul, where his office was set up, President-elect Yoon held a meeting with Transition Committee Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo, Vice Chairman Kwon Young-se, and Planning Chairman Won Hee-ryong, saying, "Please accelerate the handover process to become a government that works with a sense of urgency."
The Presidential Transition Committee also announced its goal to hold a signboard ceremony later this week. This means speeding up the transition process by finalizing the selection of committee members and immediately starting operations. Spokesperson Kim Eun-hye said at a briefing at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, "We aim to hold the signboard ceremony as early as late this week, or at the latest, early next week."
Spokesperson Kim explained, "Conventionally, the signboard ceremony is usually held when the selection is completed, and considering that it usually took about a week to ten days, this time we want to proceed with a sense of urgency."
President-elect Yoon made his first visit to the transition office after his election on the same day. He then moved to a traditional market in Seoul to attend a luncheon and meeting with the market merchants' association presidents. This fulfills his promise made last November to "visit again even after becoming president." President-elect Yoon plans to assess the situation of small business owners and self-employed people struggling due to COVID-19 and come up with countermeasures.
President-elect Yoon appointed former New Politics Alliance for Democracy leader Kim Han-gil and Professor Kim Byung-joon of Kookmin University as chairpersons of the National Integration Committee and the Regional Balance Committee, respectively, which will be established within the transition committee.

Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo is scheduled to announce the direction of the transition committee in the afternoon. There is also speculation about additional appointments to the transition committee.
