Samsung Life Launches Dental Insurance and Simple Dental Insurance "Industry-First Enrollment for Pre-Existing Conditions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Samsung Life Insurance announced on the 14th that it will start selling 'Samsung Dental Insurance' and 'Samsung Simple Dental Insurance' from the 15th.
'Samsung Dental Insurance' and 'Samsung Simple Dental Insurance' cover not only costs related to dental diseases such as cavities but also expenses necessary to preserve or restore teeth, including implants.
First, the main insurance broadly covers prosthetic treatments such as implants/dentures/bridges, crown treatments such as gold crowns, conservative treatments such as inlays/amalgam, permanent tooth extraction, and pulp treatment (root canal treatment).
If the insured manages their teeth after enrollment and does not lose permanent teeth, a 'Permanent Tooth Maintenance Congratulatory Payment' is provided at the end of the insurance period.
A new special contract for coverage of 'specific implant alveolar bone graft surgery' and 're-implantation implant' treatments has been established to expand coverage related to implants.
Samsung Simple Dental Insurance is the first in the industry to allow enrollment for those with pre-existing conditions.
Existing dental insurance does not allow enrollment if permanent teeth have been extracted due to dental caries (cavities) or periodontal disease within the last five years, or if periodontal-related surgery has been performed.
However, this product allows enrollment by disclosing only two items. The disclosure items are whether the applicant currently uses dentures (removable prosthesis) and whether they have received medical treatment or medication from a dentist or have been diagnosed as needing treatment within the past year.
Samsung Dental Insurance is available for ages from birth to 70, and Samsung Simple Dental Insurance is available for ages 30 to 70, both with a 10-year renewable term, providing coverage up to age 100.
