Philips Installs Advanced Diagnostic Equipment and Healthcare Solutions on a Large Scale at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Philips Korea announced on the 14th that it has installed Philips' advanced imaging diagnostic equipment and digital healthcare solutions at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital, which will open on the 21st.
Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital operates with 700 beds, the largest scale in the southwestern metropolitan area, with over 30 medical departments and 6 specialized critical care clusters (Cancer Hospital, Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Hospital, Gastroenterology Center, Respiratory Center, Spine Center, Joint Center).
The main solutions Philips is introducing to Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital include the ‘Spectral CT 7500’, launched domestically last year, the digital MRI ‘Ingenia Elition X 3.0T’ and ‘Ingenia 3.0T CX’, which integrate advanced technology, as well as ultrasound and interventional angiography systems. Digital pathology solutions and patient monitoring solutions are also supported as part of the digital healthcare solutions.
The ‘Spectral CT 7500’, released by Philips at the end of last year, was installed for the first time in Korea at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital. Compared to existing equipment, it reduced diagnostic time by 34%, repeat scans by 25%, and additional follow-up scans by 30%, while reducing radiation dose by 40% and maintaining image quality, allowing patients to undergo examinations more accurately and comfortably.
In addition, the digital MRI technology integrated in Philips’ ‘Ingenia Elition X 3.0T’ offers a bore diameter of 70 cm, providing a wider patient examination space, and incorporates proprietary time reduction technology to deliver high-resolution images while shortening examination time, minimizing patient discomfort. In particular, it reduces the need for sedation in pediatric patients who have difficulty controlling movement, and allows patients who find it difficult to hold their breath during abdominal and cardiac exams requiring breath control to undergo examinations more comfortably.
