Secured 5.5 Billion KRW in Special Education Grants from the Ministry of Education
Improving Educational Environment in 10 Local Schools
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Jo Hae-jin, a member of the National Assembly and chairman of the Education Committee from the People Power Party (Miryang, Uiryeong, Haman, Changnyeong), secured 5.57 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of Education to improve the educational environment of 10 schools in four regions: Miryang City, Uiryeong County, Haman County, and Changnyeong County in Gyeongnam.
The special grants secured this time include 248 million KRW for window replacement at Muan Middle School in Miryang, 420 million KRW for window replacement and restroom repairs at Miryang Girls' Middle School, 383 million KRW for window replacement and restroom repairs at Miryang Middle School, 1.324 billion KRW for dormitory construction at Miryang Dongmyeong High School, 246 million KRW for restroom expansion at Jeonggok Elementary School in Uiryeong, 522 million KRW for special classroom expansion at Yuwon Elementary School in Haman, 175 million KRW for restroom repairs at Hamseong Middle School in Haman, 436 million KRW for special classroom and restroom repairs at Chilwon High School in Haman, 910 million KRW for library and special classroom expansion at Daeji Elementary School in Changnyeong, and 870 million KRW for library and special classroom expansion at Daeseong Middle School in Changnyeong.

Assemblyman Jo Hae-jin said, "With the special grants from the Ministry of Education in the first half of this year, students will be able to attend school safely and comfortably," adding, "Although the number of students is decreasing, nurturing talent is the driving force for the development of Korea and the region, so educational budgets must continue to be invested."
