Ukrainian Forces "Third Russian General-Level Commander Killed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunwoo Lee] The Ukrainian military announced that it has once again succeeded in killing a Russian general-level commander. This brings the total number of Russian general-level commanders killed by the Ukrainian military since the start of the war to three.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 11th (local time), the Ukrainian military stated in a press release that "Major General Andrey Kolesnikov of Russia's 29th Army was killed during combat." WSJ explained that "a Russian Major General corresponds to a U.S. Brigadier General."
The Ukrainian military previously claimed to have killed Major General Andrey Sukhovetsky, commander of Russia's 7th Airborne Division, and also Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, deputy commander of Russia's 41st Army, during combat. This is estimated to bring the total number of Russian general-level commanders killed by the Ukrainian military since the start of the war to three.
While the Ukrainian military says that Russia continues to lose high-ranking officers in this war, it has not disclosed detailed information beyond the deaths of these three. It is mainly presumed that Russian generals died from attacks by Ukrainian snipers during urban warfare.
