17 Companies Participate in Yeosu Gwangyang Port to Achieve Accident-Free Safe Harbor
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 11th that it held the KICK-OFF meeting of the Gwangyang Port Facility Managers Council.
Seventeen companies, including the Authority and operators, participated in the meeting to discuss regular safety inspections of Gwangyang Port facilities and timely facility improvement measures following the recent enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
In addition, the Authority plans to strengthen organic cooperation and prevent safety accidents by holding regular meetings in the future to overcome communication difficulties among related organizations caused by the continued social distancing.
Choi Sang-heon, Vice President (Head of Development Business Division), said, “We will share in advance the repair and improvement needs of port facilities with each operator and provide maximum support to make Gwangyang Port free of safety accidents through proactive measures,” adding, “We will fulfill our responsibility to realize a safe port without accidents.”
