Namwon-si Selected for 'Social Economy Collaboration System Establishment Project' Competition

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Namwon City in Jeonbuk announced on the 10th that it has secured 100 million won by being selected for the second consecutive year in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s “Social Economy Collaboration System Establishment Project” contest.

This project supports discovering and solving local issues related to the social economy through social economy committees established by each local government, including programs for expanding sales channels, financial support, training professional personnel, and raising awareness.

Last year, the city was also selected for this project and successfully promoted the Online Social Economy Expo and the Chunhyang Sale Festa.

For this contest project, the city proposed the “On(Namwon) Social Economy Festa” to build online sales and communication channels for social economy enterprises in the region and to develop a regional win-win model.

Detailed projects include ▲creating detailed online product pages for social economy enterprises ▲online discount promotions and live commerce ▲social economy online talk concerts ▲and the Public Gamma Market project to promote public purchases during the Chuseok holiday.

In particular, the newly launched online talk concert will feature leaders of local social economy enterprises participating and discussing the meaning and value of the social economy through a YouTube channel, delivering vivid voices from the field to citizens.

The Namwon Social Economy Council plans to create a mutual growth fund together with social economy enterprises participating in the online discount promotion and support vulnerable groups through local social welfare institutions with part of the profits from this event.

An official from the city said, “We hope that the On(Namwon) Social Economy Festa, which raises the temperature of hope in the local economy through organic cooperation between the Namwon Social Economy Council, administration, and intermediary support organizations, will be an opportunity for Namwon’s social economy to take a step forward.”
