KOTRA Supports K Medical Device Exports... Online Export Consultation on 10-11th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 9th that it will hold the '2022 Global Medical Device Export Consultation' (GMEP 2022) online from the 10th to the 11th.
The consultation is organized in connection with 'KIMES 2022,' the largest domestic medical device exhibition held from the 10th to the 14th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The export consultation will involve 430 buyers from 45 countries worldwide, interacting with 192 Korean companies in the fields of digital healthcare, medical equipment, dental supplies, and medical products. Due to the spread of the Omicron variant, the event will be held online. Companies will use video consultation rooms set up at the exhibition hall to communicate with buyers connecting from overseas.
On the first day, the 10th, the 'Global Medical Device Conference' will be held at the COEX Grand Conference Hall. This event will explore the future of the rapidly changing medical device industry, including the convergence with information technology (IT) such as artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic technology and digital therapeutics, and showcase innovative medical technologies from Korean companies.
In particular, Medtronic, the world's largest medical device company from the United States, will deliver a keynote speech on the theme of 'The Era of Digital Transformation and the Future of the Medical Device Industry.'
Additionally, Korean companies Hipoti&TC and Weisen, which received innovation awards at 'CES 2022' held earlier this year, will introduce ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) digital therapeutics and AI-based gastrointestinal endoscopy image analysis technology, respectively.
Furthermore, SK C&C, MediBloc, and Choicetechnology will present AI diagnostic technology, blockchain-based medical information systems, and wireless wearable medical devices for temperature measurement.
