On the 9th at noon, the National Election Commission stated, "Active cooperation from all sectors is necessary to ensure stable voting for COVID-19 confirmed cases and others."
The Commission has been consulting with the owners and managers of buildings housing 14,464 polling stations regarding voting arrangements for COVID-19 confirmed and quarantined individuals.
The Commission explained, "There have been cases where owners and managers of buildings such as apartments, wedding halls, dormitories, senior centers, and employment support centers, where polling stations are set up, oppose the entry of confirmed cases due to concerns about COVID-19 infection, which is expected to cause difficulties in exercising their voting rights."
They added, "After voting ends, thorough disinfection inside and outside the polling stations will be conducted to ensure there is no inconvenience in returning the facilities to their original use," and requested, "Since elections are a national event to exercise the constitutional right to vote, we ask for active cooperation even if there is some inconvenience."
