Ukrainian Nationals, 'Visa Issuance' Simplified... Ministry of Justice "Supports Swift Entry"
Visa Issuance Without 'Proof Documents' for Overseas Koreans with Domestic Entry History... Excluding Entry Ban Subjects
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] The Ministry of Justice has decided to significantly simplify visa application documents regardless of the jurisdiction of overseas diplomatic missions until the situation in Ukraine stabilizes, to support swift entry.
On the 8th, the Ministry of Justice announced that it will partially resume issuing visas that had been temporarily suspended for overseas Koreans in Ukraine and their families, as well as foreigners eligible for family invitation under current regulations among long-term residents in Korea.
Ukrainian nationals who have previously entered Korea, or overseas Koreans and their families residing long-term in Ukraine, who have entered with past statuses such as Overseas Korean Visit (C-3-8), Visit Employment (H-2), Overseas Korean (F-4), or Accompanying Family (F-1-9 or F-1-11), or who have registered as foreigners, will be issued visas under the same status as before without requiring proof of overseas Korean status. However, those eligible for the Overseas Korean Visit (C-3-8) visa will be issued a Visit Employment (H-2-5) visa instead.
Those who have previously entered with statuses such as Overseas Korean Visit (C-3), Visit Employment (H-2), Overseas Korean (F-4), or Accompanying Family (F-1) can receive visas under the same status as before without proof of overseas Korean status.
For first-time visa applicants, a short-term visa (C-3) will be issued without household verification documents if overseas Korean status is proven by passport or ID, or if they are family members.
Additionally, visas may be issued depending on conditions when proving family relationships of Ukrainian nationals residing long-term in Korea, such as marriage immigrants. However, those subject to entry bans or visa issuance bans are excluded from this measure.
