Japan Sees New COVID-19 Cases Drop to 30,000 Range... First Time in a Month and a Half
The number of new COVID-19 cases in Japan has decreased to the 30,000 range for the first time in about a month and a half.
According to NHK's tally on the 7th, as of 6 p.m., 37,083 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in Japan. This is the first time in 48 days since January 18 (32,173 cases) that the daily number of confirmed cases in Japan has dropped to the 30,000 range.
The number of new COVID-19 cases in Japan has shown a gradual decline after peaking around mid-last month. The average daily number of confirmed cases over the past week (February 28 to March 6) was 63,017, a 5% decrease compared to the previous week (66,368 cases).
