[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The movie 'The Batman' topped the box office during its opening weekend.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket sales network on the 7th, 'The Batman' (director Matt Reeves) attracted 232,720 viewers over the three-day weekend (April 4?6), securing the number one spot at the box office. Starring Robert Pattinson, 'The Batman' depicts the story of Bruce Wayne, a second-year Batman, who is tormented as he unravels clues left by the serial killer Riddler (Paul Dano). The theater industry paid close attention, expecting a 'The Batman' effect, with 2,345 screens showing the film 21,490 times, but it is observed that the results did not meet expectations.
Tom Holland's 'Uncharted' drew 36,280 viewers, ranking second, while the Japanese animation 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie' attracted 35,948 viewers, and the thriller 'Antebellum' gathered 10,034 viewers, placing third and fourth respectively.
The bold romance 'Serve the People,' based on a Chinese novel, attracted about 6,000 viewers, ranking fifth, and 'Nightmare Alley' took seventh place.
