Naver's Han Seong-suk Earned 2.7 Billion KRW Last Year... Founder Lee Hae-jin Earned 1.7 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Han Seong-suk, CEO of Naver, received a total compensation of 2.779 billion KRW last year. Lee Hae-jin, the founder of Naver and Global Investment Officer (GIO), received 1.781 billion KRW.
According to Naver's business report on the 5th, CEO Han received a total of 2.779 billion KRW last year, including a salary of 1.2 billion KRW, bonuses of 1.57 billion KRW, and other labor income of 9 million KRW. This amount decreased by about 680 million KRW compared to the previous year (2020), when she received 3.459 billion KRW.
The compensation committee under Naver's board of directors explained regarding CEO Han's bonus, "We considered the establishment of a differentiated model that allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the platform to grow together, which became more important during the COVID-19 situation, and the increased expectations for the company's sustainable growth through Naver Plus Membership."
During the same period, GIO Lee received a total of 1.781 billion KRW, including a salary of 1.085 billion KRW, bonuses of 560 million KRW, and other labor income of 136 million KRW. GIO Lee's compensation also decreased by 194 million KRW compared to the previous year (1.975 billion KRW). The compensation committee explained about GIO Lee's bonus, "He laid the foundation for Naver's global competitiveness and made significant contributions to future growth by integrating the management of Line and Yahoo and entering the tech-finance business."
Additionally, Chief Communications Officer (CCO) Chae Seon-ju received 1.946 billion KRW last year, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Park Sang-jin received 1.972 billion KRW, and former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Choi In-hyuk received 4.532 billion KRW (including retirement income).
