Jungjingong, Recruiting Companies for Participation in the First Half Online Technology Exchange Consultation Meeting
Targeting Thailand, Indonesia, China, and the United Arab Emirates... Buyer Matching and Follow-up Support Included
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 4th that they are recruiting companies to participate in the integrated online technology exchange consultation meeting for four countries in the first half of the year.
The overseas technology exchange project is a program that supports technology export by matching domestic companies with excellent proprietary technology and overseas companies seeking technology transfer. The target countries for technology exchange in the first half are Thailand, Indonesia, China, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), four countries with high demand for domestic company technologies. The technology exchange consultation will be held online for four days starting June 7, matching domestic companies with excellent technology and overseas companies seeking technology transfer for consultations.
About 10 companies per country will be recruited, and companies can apply for up to two countries. After a technology diagnosis through a technology commercialization coordinator for the applicant companies, participation will be decided after verification of matching success with the respective countries. Additionally, this consultation will select and recruit key fields with high technology demand by country. Thailand focuses on healthcare, construction & machinery, and consumer goods; Indonesia on e-mobility, secondary batteries, and the 4th industrial revolution; China on healthcare and eco-friendly technologies; and the UAE on healthcare, construction & automotive, and consumer goods.

After the consultation, SBC plans to support participating companies by providing customized services such as contract legal review and interpretation/translation support twice within the year, with a limit of 3 million KRW per session, to help generate tangible results. The Ministry and SBC have been operating the overseas technology exchange project since 2017 to support technology export by SMEs and startups. In 2021, a total of 40 consultation meetings were held, matching 376 domestic companies with 1,617 overseas companies from 21 countries, resulting in 19 technology contracts worth 8.66 billion KRW and 123 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) as technology exchange achievements.
