NHN Academy Opens Gyeongnam Campus... Cultivating IT Talent
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] NHN Academy, a specialized educational institution for nurturing software talent, has taken its first step.
On the 3rd, NHN announced the opening of the NHN Academy Gyeongnam Campus located in Gimhae and the launch of a software (SW) development training program for local youth.
Through an open recruitment of trainees, NHN selected 59 first-generation trainees based in regions such as Ulsan and Gyeongnam, and will conduct a 'Web Service Development' education course including web programming and practical team projects over approximately seven months. Trainees who complete the course with excellent grades will be offered employment opportunities as SW developers at NHN affiliates to be established in Gyeongnam.
NHN, in cooperation with Gyeongnam Province and the Ulsan·Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform, established the 'NHN Track' course in the curricula of nearby universities such as Gyeongnam National University, Gyeongsang National University, and Changwon National University. The NHN Track is a curriculum designed to enhance the effectiveness of IT education and develop students' basic competencies, consisting of seven fundamental IT subjects. Starting from the recruitment of the second generation trainees scheduled for September, NHN plans to expand industry-academia cooperation by granting eligibility to university students who have completed the NHN Track.
The NHN Academy Gyeongnam Campus is equipped with a Hive space for rest, meals, and comfortable conversations, lecture rooms of various sizes, offices and meeting rooms, and pair rooms for small meetings, providing an environment where trainees can communicate conveniently and learn autonomously.
