Apple has sent out official invitations announcing that it will hold an 'Apple Special Event' at 3 a.m. on the 9th (local time in the U.S. on the 8th). The event, held at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, will be streamed live online.
At this Apple spring season event, it is expected that the third generation of the budget model iPhone SE, a new iPad Air, and the Mac series equipped with Apple's own silicon chips will be unveiled.
According to MacRumors and CNBC, the new iPhone SE is expected to have a 4.7-inch LCD screen similar to the current version, but with new features such as the A15 Bionic chip, rear camera, and 5G connectivity.
The new iPad Air is also expected to have no major changes in its main design but will be equipped with the latest A-series chip and 5G connectivity. A Mac series with Apple's own designed chips may also be released. The possibility of a Mac Mini cannot be ruled out.
Mark Gurman, an IT specialist reporter from Bloomberg, had predicted that Apple would hold an event on March 8 (local time). However, after no official invitation was released, foreign media expressed disappointment.
The market is also optimistic about increased iPhone sales, including the new iPhone SE. Global investment bank JP Morgan stated, "The iPhone SE has the potential to attract more than one billion non-premium Android phone users," and added, "Sales of the SE model are expected to increase to 30 million units in 2022." The iPhone shipment volume for 2022 is expected to reach 250 million units, an increase of about 10 million compared to the previous year.
