Wemade Appoints Heo Seok-jun as Vice President and Head of Global Investment Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] On the 2nd, Wemade established a global investment division and appointed Vice President Heo Seok-jun as its head.
Vice President Heo Seok-jun graduated from Brown University in the United States and is a capital market expert who has worked in the global investment industry, including as CEO of Standard Chartered (SC) PE Korea and CEO of the European private equity firm CVC Capital Korea.
He is known to have comprehensive global network and investment planning capabilities and experience, having served as the head of SK Telecom's Private Placement (PP) group and most recently as MD of SK Square.
In particular, during his tenure at SK Telecom and SK Square, he led investments in platform subsidiaries such as One Store, eSports T1, and Wavve to expand new businesses, as well as attracting investments. He also handled business partnerships including joint ventures with global companies such as Microsoft, Comcast, and Singtel.
Recently, he successfully facilitated SK Square's investment in the domestic virtual asset exchange Korbit and contributed to SK's entry into the virtual asset business.
