Cadillac 'CT5-V Blackwing' Launched in Korea: "Ultimate Performance Model"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Cadillac announced on the 2nd that it officially launched the ’CT5-V Blackwing’ in the domestic market and has begun customer deliveries.
The CT5-V Blackwing is the highest-performing high-performance model in the ‘V Series,’ combining the most powerful power in Cadillac history with advanced technology engineered for track driving.
The CT5-V Blackwing is equipped with a 6.2L hand-built supercharged V8 engine. It delivers 677 horsepower and 91.9 kg.m of torque. At the same time, it features ultra-precise variable valve timing technology. Additionally, the combination of a direct injection fuel system and an active fuel management system that activates only some cylinders in specific driving conditions maximizes fuel efficiency.
The Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission, combined with the Blackwing engine, delivers optimal powertrain performance.
The 10-speed automatic transmission installed in the Blackwing includes an ultra-precise control function that intelligently adjusts shift patterns according to the driver’s driving habits, and a dynamic performance mode technology that actively monitors shift points by detecting specific G-forces in sport or track modes. It also features uphill/downhill detection technology that automatically adjusts shift timing according to uphill and downhill conditions.
The high-strength lightweight body of the CT5-V Blackwing is designed to respond to both body torsion and road surface shocks. It enables precise steering response and flexible body movement even at ultra-high speeds. Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 helps maintain control in any driving situation.
Additionally, the electronically controlled limited-slip differential, uniquely applied in its class, effectively controls the rear-wheel drive force to minimize power loss generated by the engine. The CT5-V Blackwing is the first Cadillac model to apply Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires developed exclusively for it and carbon ceramic brakes that guarantee world-class braking performance.
Seo Youngdeuk, President of Cadillac Korea, said, “Cadillac is one of the world’s leading luxury brands that use separate high-performance naming like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi,” adding, “The CT5-V Blackwing, with unprecedented specs beyond imagination, will deliver a new thrill never experienced before to customers who have dreamed of their own dream car to escape everyday life.”
To commemorate the launch of the CT5-V Blackwing, Cadillac is offering customers a voucher worth 1.8 million KRW to purchase a racing package including a racing helmet, gloves, and shoes. The voucher can be used at designated offline stores, and customers can choose items in sizes that fit them.
