[Box Office] 'The Batman' Opens Brightly with 190,000 on First Day... This Year's Best Opening
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The movie 'The Batman' opened at number one at the box office, attracting 190,000 viewers on its first day.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 2nd, 'The Batman' drew 192,341 viewers on March 1st, a national holiday, marking the highest opening score of the year. Including about 5,000 viewers from the preview screening and the cumulative audience including the press screening, the total reached 198,534.
In December last year, Marvel's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' attracted 630,000 viewers on its first day, recording the highest opening since the pandemic. This year, last month, 'Pirates: Goblin Flag' drew about 90,000 viewers, and the foreign film 'Uncharted' attracted about 70,000 viewers.
On the morning of the same day, 'The Batman' showed a real-time reservation rate of 63.6%, but the number of reserved tickets was only 67,301.
The film depicts the story of Bruce Wayne (played by Robert Pattinson), a second-year Batman, who falls into anguish while solving clues left by the Riddler (Paul Dano), a serial killer. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.
As 'The Batman' opened with the highest audience during the Samiljeol holiday, attention is focused on whether it will continue its success and revitalize the cinema industry.
