CJ Freshway Launches 'Ppeongiyo Donkatsu & Macaron'
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] CJ Freshway announced on the 2nd that it has launched B2B (business-to-business) exclusive products 'Ppeongiyo Donkatsu' and 'Ppeongiyo Macaron.'
Ppeongiyo Donkatsu uses domestically sourced pork loin with crushed Ppeongiyo snacks instead of breadcrumbs. It features the rich flavor of juicy pork loin combined with the sweet and savory taste unique to Ppeongiyo. The amount of Ppeongiyo used in one pack of Ppeongiyo Donkatsu is 220g, which is more than the 140g in a regular pack of Ppeongiyo snacks. The product is manufactured by Haneul Food, a comprehensive frozen food company. The packaging incorporates the signature color of Ppeongiyo, first released in 1982, to evoke a newtro (new + retro) sentiment.
Ppeongiyo Macaron is a dessert containing Ppeongiyo-flavored cream and crushed Ppeongiyo snacks. The filling cream is butter cream-based with Ppeongiyo snack powder, creating a distinctive flavor. The addition of crispy Ppeongiyo snack particles enhances the richness of the taste.
