118,000 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 6 PM... 812 More Than Yesterday

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] As of 6 PM on the 28th, nearly 120,000 COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.
According to Seoul and other local governments, from midnight to 6 PM on this day, 118,000 people across 17 cities and provinces nationwide were confirmed positive for COVID-19. This is 812 more than the 117,188 cases reported during the same time frame the previous day.
Compared to the count from one week ago on the 21st (86,372 cases), this is about 1.4 times higher, and compared to two weeks ago on the 14th (48,635 cases), it is 2.4 times higher.
Since there is still time until midnight when the count is finalized, the number of new cases to be announced on March 1 is expected to increase further.
As of 6 PM, new cases were 64,154 (54.4%) in the metropolitan area and 53,846 (45.6%) in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, the numbers are: Gyeonggi 33,348, Seoul 24,074, Busan 8,522, Gyeongnam 7,124, Incheon 6,732, Daegu 5,201, Gyeongbuk 4,592, Gwangju 4,352, Chungnam 4,110, Daejeon 3,672, Gangwon 3,008, Jeonnam 2,969, Ulsan 2,945, Chungbuk 2,903, Jeonbuk 1,875, Jeju 1,730, and Sejong 843.
