Hamyang-gun Submits 1st Supplementary Budget of 584.9 Billion Won to Council
4.23% Increase from Initial Estimate, Overcoming Economic Crisis Amid Prolonged COVID-19 Pandemic
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The government of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 28th that it has prepared the first supplementary budget for 2022, totaling 584.9 billion KRW, which is 23.7 billion KRW more than the original budget for this year, and submitted it to the county council.
According to the county, this supplementary budget proposal was prepared focusing on preventing the spread of infectious diseases due to the rapid surge of COVID-19, revitalizing the stagnant local economy, preventing major accidents in advance following the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and addressing major pending projects.
Looking at the increased expenditure budget by sector, the land and regional development sector was the largest with 8.7 billion KRW, followed by agriculture, forestry, and marine fisheries sector with 4.8 billion KRW, social welfare sector with 3.7 billion KRW, and culture and tourism sector with 2.7 billion KRW.
Major expenditure budgets include 800 million KRW for the underground wiring project in Hamyang-eup, 1.4 billion KRW for the Namgye Seowon World Heritage Media Art project, 1.5 billion KRW for the Gwangpyeongcheon maintenance project, 1.5 billion KRW for the Guyangcheon maintenance project, and 500 million KRW for the second phase of the wireless broadcasting device installation in Daeknae village.
