Private School Pension, Coffee Grounds Recycling Project... Participation in Eco-Friendly Fertilizer Delivery Ceremony
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] The Private School Teachers' Pension Service announced on the 28th that it held a fertilizer delivery ceremony for the coffee grounds recycling project on the 25th, aiming to create a sustainable environmental ecosystem and promote regional coexistence through collaboration with institutions relocated to Naju Innovation City.
The coffee grounds recycling project refers to contributing to resource circulation through a social system of recycling coffee grounds, which have value as a resource but are discarded.
The Private School Teachers' Pension Service supported the program design and planning of this event, as well as the costs involved in collecting coffee grounds and purchasing fertilizer. Approximately 10 tons of coffee grounds were collected from local coffee shops, reducing about 6.8 tons of greenhouse gases and producing 5,000 bags of eco-friendly fertilizer. The fertilizer will be distributed free of charge to the local community (farmers, etc.) via the Naju City Forestry and Park Department.
The delivery ceremony was attended by officials from the Private School Teachers' Pension Service, Jeonnam Regional Problem-Solving Platform, Naju Family Center, Korea Power Exchange, and Korea Communications and Radio Promotion Agency.
