Recruiting Startups to Collaborate with Global Companies like Google, MS, and Nvidia
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will recruit startup companies wishing to participate in the 'Global Corporate Collaboration Program' from the 28th to March 18th.
The Global Corporate Collaboration Program is a project where the government and global companies collaborate to support the growth of startups and provide opportunities to enter overseas markets. In 2019, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups introduced the 'Changgu Program' to support the growth of startups in the mobile service sector in partnership with Google Play. Last year, the collaboration targets were expanded to six global companies with the best capabilities in each field, and individual programs were operated.
Thanks to close support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and global companies, startups participating in the Global Corporate Collaboration Program last year achieved remarkable results throughout the year. As of December 2021, 200 startups participating in the program created an average of 15 jobs per company, totaling 3,000 jobs during the year. They also succeeded in attracting follow-up investments totaling 201.4 billion KRW. Among the participating companies, 59 companies, accounting for 30%, generated overseas sales, successfully taking a step closer to overseas expansion.
This recruitment announcement consists of six programs: ▲Changgu Program (collaboration with Google Play) ▲N-Up Program (collaboration with NVIDIA) ▲Majung Program (collaboration with Microsoft) ▲Daonda Program (collaboration with Dassault Syst?mes) ▲ASK Program (collaboration with Ansys) ▲Mediterranean Program (collaboration with Siemens), supporting a total of 200 startup companies.
Startup companies wishing to participate can apply by selecting one detailed program. Applications are accepted online through the ‘K-Startup Startup Support Portal’ website until 6 p.m. on March 18th.
Selected startups will receive up to 300 million KRW in commercialization funds from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, along with a growth support package consisting of global companies’ own services, education, consulting, and market development.
