Booyoung Group Woojeong Education and Culture Foundation Awards Scholarships to 89 International Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] The Wooyoung Education and Culture Foundation of Booyoung Group announced on the 25th that it will provide scholarships totaling approximately 30 million won for the first semester of this year to 89 international university students from 34 countries studying in Korea.
The Wooyoung Education and Culture Foundation, established in 2008 by Booyoung Group Chairman Lee Joong-geun, has been awarding scholarships twice a year since 2010 to international students from Asia, Africa, and Latin America studying in Korea. To date, the foundation has awarded scholarships totaling about 8.3 billion won to 2,115 students from 41 countries.
A foundation official stated, "We hope the scholarships will help international students grow into global leaders connecting their home countries, Korea, and the world."

Meanwhile, Booyoung Group is engaged in sharing activities such as donating educational and cultural facilities, scholarship projects, and promoting history. The total amount donated so far is 890 billion won, and in 2014, it ranked first among Korea's top 500 companies in terms of donations relative to sales.
