Ukraine: Korean Embassy Urges Remaining Nationals to Make Thorough Preparations
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine has urged Korean residents staying locally to prepare for emergency situations.
On the 25th, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine posted a notice titled "Notice to Korean Residents Remaining in Ukraine" on its website and Facebook page.
In the notice, the embassy stated, "We assess that there is a possibility of various chaotic situations occurring in major cities such as Kyiv, including power and communication outages, arson, explosions, and other acts whose perpetrators are difficult to identify."
It continued, "Korean residents should keep in mind the possibility of confusion caused by future power outages and communication disruptions, and be fully prepared to calmly respond if such situations actually occur."
The embassy has distributed emergency kits containing lanterns and radios to Korean residents who applied, and is confirming their safety through an emergency contact network.
As of the afternoon of the 24th (local time), there are a total of 64 Korean residents staying in Ukraine, of whom 28 have expressed their intention to remain.
