Research Presentation on Applying Smart Technologies Based on the 4th Industrial Revolution

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) announced on the 24th that it held the 'Next-Generation Advanced Warship Smart Technology Research Presentation' to unveil technologies to be applied to the Republic of Korea Navy's next-generation advanced warships.
The event was attended by the Navy Headquarters Cyber Operations Center, Planning and Management Staff, Ship Technology Department, Defense Technology Quality Institute, Defense Industry Technology Support Center, Seoul National University, Korea University, Inha University, Chungnam National University, Korea Aerospace University, The Korean Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers, Korean Register, DS Lab Company, and InnoSimulation, sharing research achievements in their respective specialized fields.
There was also a session for discussions via video conference on essential core technologies for shipbuilding and operation with Fincantieri, a company with a track record of building light aircraft carriers, and SRDSC, a renowned overseas aircraft carrier design company.
DSME has been conducting various research projects on aircraft carrier technology requirements and is continuously securing core and foundational technologies necessary for aircraft carrier design through ongoing internal investments. In particular, to acquire technologies related to carrier-based aircraft operations, which are lacking domestically, DSME is collaborating with multiple institutions and striving to develop various smart technologies to be applied to the Korean-style aircraft carrier.
