Anyone willing to donate parking spaces? ... Ulsan City recruits participants for parking lot sharing and opening project
Support for Facility Costs of Opening Affiliated Parking Lots, Property Tax Reduction for Opening Private Land
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Anyone willing to donate a ‘parking lot’?
Ulsan City is recruiting participants for this year’s parking lot sharing and opening project to alleviate parking difficulties in residential areas.
This project is divided into two categories: the attached parking lot opening project and the private land opening project.
The attached parking lot opening project supports maintenance costs for parking lot facilities when attached parking lots with 20 or more spaces at buildings such as schools, religious facilities, commercial buildings, and apartment complexes are opened during idle hours for more than two years.
The facility support targets include outdoor security lights for parking lot operation and management, security facilities such as surveillance cameras (CCTV), floor paving, parking space lines, as well as safety facilities, control facilities, and management facilities.
Additionally, participants can receive extra benefits such as payment of parking lot liability insurance premiums and a 5% reduction in traffic inducement charges.
The private land opening project offers property tax reduction benefits when idle private land without building plans is opened for parking lot use for local residents for more than two years.
Civilian participants and facilities interested in joining can inquire by phone or visit the district/county transportation administration office by the end of June.
The parking lot sharing and opening project was first introduced last year, achieving results by creating 7 attached parking lots with 849 spaces and 15 private land parking lots with 130 spaces with a budget of 270 million KRW.
This year, a budget of 430 million KRW (50% city funds, 50% district/county funds), which is a 60% increase compared to last year, has been secured, and the project will be promoted until the end of the year through priority evaluation and final support selection processes.
