Freshmen admitted to Chosun Institute of Technology for the 2022 academic year will attend the entrance ceremony by accessing the metaverse platform, a three-dimensional virtual space, using avatars they created themselves.
After entering the virtual university playground, the freshmen will watch President Jo Soon-gye's welcome speech video and congratulatory videos from professors on the electronic display board.
Following the declaration of admission approval for 1,422 freshmen of the 2022 academic year, they will be able to watch the 'University Life Guide' video prepared by Chosun Institute of Technology to help new students smoothly adapt to university life.
Additionally, the metaverse entrance ceremony will feature a 'Quiz Quiz Solved in 5 Seconds' game and a dance time where avatars can dance to exciting music.
Freshmen can freely communicate non-face-to-face (via avatars) with new classmates and professors on the metaverse platform, allowing them to experience university life before the semester begins.

President Jo Soon-gye of Chosun Institute of Technology stated, "The metaverse has the advantage of exchanging vast amounts of information quickly and conveniently, and it is easy for participants to actively communicate," adding, "Our university plans to actively utilize the metaverse platform in educational settings to cultivate students' AI capabilities necessary not only for COVID-19 but also for the future and to improve the quality of education."
