View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju Esports Education Center (Director Jeong Yeon-cheol, Professor of Esports Industry Department at Honam University) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the Youth Challengers Season 2 on the 25th and 26th to discover promising players in specialized esports categories and to promote a healthy esports culture among youth.
Until 12 PM on the 24th, 16 teams per category for League of Legends and Battlegrounds will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis through the Education Center’s website, LoL Inven, and Battlegrounds Inven.
As of the tournament date, participants aged 12 to 18 can join the League of Legends category, and those aged 15 to 18 can join the Battlegrounds category. Awarded teams will receive certificates and a total prize money of 1,000,000 KRW (25,000 KRW for 1st place, 15,000 KRW for 2nd place, and 10,000 KRW for 3rd place per category).
The match schedule will be announced to team representatives at 7 PM on the 24th, with preliminaries and the 3rd/4th place matches held on the 25th, and the finals for each category held online on the 26th (LoL from 10 AM to 1 PM, Battlegrounds from 2 PM to 5 PM).
The finals will be broadcast through the Education Center’s SNS channels, with commentary and match management handled by students from Honam University’s Esports Industry Department and the Education Center’s coaching staff.
