[Special Stock] HYBE's Stock Rises 4% on Record High Performance Since Establishment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] HYBE, the agency of boy group BTS, is experiencing a strong stock price surge after surpassing annual sales of 1 trillion won for the first time among entertainment agencies.
As of 10:12 AM on the 23rd in the KOSPI market, HYBE is trading at 285,000 won, up 4.2% from the previous trading day.
HYBE, which announced its 2021 performance results the day before, recorded sales of 1.2577 trillion won. This is the first time since its establishment that annual sales have exceeded 1 trillion won, and it is the first among all entertainment agencies.
Operating profit was 190.3 billion won, and net profit was 141 billion won, increasing by 30.8% and 62%, respectively.
Operating profit for the fourth quarter was 73.9 billion won, up 36.8% compared to the same period last year. Sales and net profit were 459.8 billion won and 53.8 billion won, respectively.

Hyun-yong Kim, a researcher at Hyundai Motor Securities, analyzed, "HYBE's sales growth is attributed to the super-high growth in the performance, merchandise (MD), and content sectors, driven by BTS's online and offline concert attendance exceeding 900,000, despite the absence of a BTS comeback and sluggish album sales."
