"Shrimp Crackers Price Increase" Nongshim Raises Snack Wholesale Prices by an Average of 6%
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Nongshim announced on the 23rd that it will raise the wholesale prices of its snacks by an average of 6% starting from the 1st of next month. This is the first time in 3 years and 4 months since November 2018 that Nongshim has increased snack prices.
A Nongshim official explained, “Over the past three years, the international prices of palm oil and wheat flour have risen by 176% and 52%, respectively, along with increases in major raw material costs and logistics expenses, as well as overall operating costs. We have adjusted prices within the minimum range considering the burden on consumers.”
The price increase applies to 22 snack brands, with major products such as Kkul Kkwabaegi, Pockstick, and Yangpkkang seeing a 6.3% increase in wholesale prices, and Saewookkang increasing by 7.2%.
