View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Wednesday the 23rd, the morning low temperature in Seoul will drop significantly to -9.8 degrees Celsius, and with the wind blowing, it will be very cold.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the whole country will be mostly clear, with the southern regions having cloudy skies until the morning. Jeju Island will be cloudy with some snow in places until the afternoon. Snow is expected on Jeju, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo. Snow accumulation is forecasted to be 1 to 5 cm in the mountainous areas of Ulleungdo, Dokdo, and Jeju, and about 1 cm in non-mountainous areas of Jeju.
As of 7 a.m., temperatures by region are Seoul -9.8°C, Incheon -8.1°C, Suwon -8.5°C, Chuncheon -15.1°C, Cheongju -7.5°C, Daejeon -8.4°C, Daegu -6.1°C, Jeonju -6.3°C, Gwangju -4.9°C, Ulsan -3.9°C, Changwon -4.4°C, Busan -2.2°C, Yeosu -3.0°C, Jeju 1.7°C, etc.
The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "With strong winds, the wind chill will make it feel even colder, so please take special care of your health against the cold and be cautious of house fires caused by indoor heating appliances."
This cold spell will continue until tomorrow and temperatures will return to normal from the 25th. The daytime high temperatures are expected to range from -1 to 6 degrees Celsius. The morning low temperatures on the 24th will be between -15 and 3 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions due to favorable atmospheric dispersion. Dry weather warnings are in effect mainly in the central regions, eastern Jeollanam-do, and the Gyeongsang region.
Until the afternoon, strong winds with gusts exceeding 15 m/s are expected along the west coast, southern coast of Jeollanam-do, and Jeju Island, so caution is advised for facility management and safety accidents.
In the East Sea offshore area where a storm warning is in effect, winds will be very strong at 10 to 16 m/s until the afternoon.
