On the afternoon of the 22nd, during a campaign at Gunsan Public Market in Jeonbuk, Candidate Yoon stated, "We will lead economic prosperity, revive Gunsan, develop Saemangeum, and attract many companies to Gunsan," adding, "After visiting Saemangeum, I realized that an airport is essential."
He continued, "Currently, large corporations are planning to build data centers in Saemangeum. The arrival of data centers means that a big wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is coming to this region, and it is proof that industries based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution can grow here," emphasizing, "The government should establish a dense 5G network so that industries utilizing data can develop, and also build infrastructure and create conditions to upgrade existing industries by easing regulations. This will contribute to the development of the national and regional economies."
Candidate Yoon also mentioned the 'Saemangeum Mega City.' He raised his voice, saying, "We will integrate Gunsan, Gimje, and Buan into the Saemangeum Mega City and transform this region so drastically that those who left Gunsan and return after a long time will think, 'Is this really my hometown?,' surpassing the past glory of the area."
In this process, Candidate Yoon criticized the Democratic Party of Korea. He said, "How can a regime that blocks what the citizens of Gwangju want and what companies want to do develop Honam?" and pointed out, "Isn't it the government's role to attract domestic and foreign companies by offering various good conditions, even to companies that have no intention of coming?" This was a response to the Democratic Party's stance that the construction of a complex shopping mall in Gwangju goes against the 'Gwangju spirit.'
He added, "Are they saying that attracting companies to Honam does not help maintain their (Democratic Party's) grip on power?" and criticized, "If they do not develop this region continuously, it only makes people depend on them, and due to difficult economic conditions, people will keep supporting the Democratic Party. If not, why block companies that want to come and residents who want companies?"
