Increase of 18.7 Billion Won, Focus on Revitalizing the Local Economy
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Goryeong County in Gyeongbuk announced on the 22nd that it has prepared and submitted to the county council a first supplementary budget for 2022 amounting to 429 billion won, an increase of 18.7 billion won (4.58%) from the original budget of 410.3 billion won.
This supplementary budget focuses on stabilizing the people's economy and job creation projects.
In particular, due to the recent spread of COVID-19, the budget was allocated for urgent projects such as home treatment, expansion of quarantine budgets, support for socially vulnerable groups, and the registration of the Jisan-dong ancient tombs as a World Cultural Heritage site.
County Governor Gwak Yong-hwan said, “To minimize the damage to residents caused by the recent spread of Omicron, we prepared the emergency supplementary budget faster than usual,” and added, “We will concentrate all administrative efforts to ensure that ongoing projects proceed without disruption.”
