Gwangju Seo-gu to Recruit Performance Groups for 'Culture and Arts Festival' Until the 11th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it will publicly recruit the ‘2022 Urban Cultural Arts Festival Performance Groups’ until the 11th of next month to promote local arts.

The performance groups will be recruited by genre such as popular songs, Western music, dance, and traditional Korean music, divided into performances at Pungam Lake Park and visiting street cultural performances. A total of 54 groups will be recruited: 18 groups for performances at Pungam Lake Park and 36 groups for visiting street cultural performances.

Seo-gu plans to select groups with excellent skills through a first round of document screening and a second round of live performance screening (audition) among the applicants.

The final selected groups will perform for about one hour at designated locations and receive performance compensation accordingly.

The ‘Pungam Lake Park Performances’ will be held every Saturday from 7 PM to 8 PM at the outdoor performance hall from June to October, and the ‘Visiting Street Cultural Performances’ will be held during the same period every Friday from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Sangmu Friday Market and from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Peace Park.

Anyone who is a cultural artist or group active in Gwangju can apply.

Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the public notice section on the Seo-gu Office website, filling it out, and then visiting or mailing it to the Seo-gu Office Culture and Arts Division.

A Seo-gu official said, “We hope that many local cultural artists will show interest and participate so that citizens can enjoy various cultures in their daily lives.”
