Song Young-gil: "Daejang-dong Suspicion Should Be Called Yoon Seok-yeol Gate... Special Prosecutor Will Continue Even After Presidential Election"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 22nd that the Daejang-dong development scandal continued from the inadequate investigation of the Busan Savings Bank case, adding, "From now on, it should be called the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Gate.'"
At the Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly that morning, Representative Song said, "It has been revealed that the main figure behind the inadequate investigation of the Busan Savings Bank case was Yoon Seok-yeol, head of the Central Investigation Division 2." He emphasized, "Even after the presidential election ends, we will definitely uncover the truth through a special prosecutor."
Regarding Yoon's statement in the previous day's TV debate about the Daejang-dong project, saying, "He took 350 million won and earned nearly 1 trillion won in profits," Song criticized, "A person who even served as Prosecutor General cannot distinguish between investment funds and capital, which raises doubts about how the investigation has been conducted so far." He added, "While economic incompetence is understandable, it seems confirmed that he is also incompetent as a prosecutor."
He continued, "What was the basis for shouting 'Lee Jae-myung Gate' based on criminals' stories, including 'that person' whom Yoon never once said was Lee Jae-myung?" and questioned, "He is truly a 'Yoon-ro-nambul' who uses things only when convenient for himself."
He particularly called on Supreme Court Justice Cho Jae-yeon, who was identified as 'that person' in the Daejang-dong recordings, saying, "I hope the Court Administration Office and Justice Cho Jae-yeon will clearly state their official position before the public."
