Jeonju City Operates 'Jeonju-style Village Kitchen' Project
For the Purpose of Improving Citizens' Eating Habits... Conducted from March to December
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 21st that it will operate the ‘Jeonju-style Village Kitchen’ project from March to December to help citizens improve their dietary habits.
The ‘Village Kitchen’ aims to expand the scope of existing dietary education projects through linkage with regional food plan projects such as Jeonju Food, while ensuring the basic right to food for all residents and realizing food justice.
This year, the project will be promoted in connection with five organizations, including the Dietary Education Jeonju Network, Jeonju Medical Social Cooperative, and Jeonju Food Hyocheon Branch.
First, the Dietary Education Jeonju Network will conduct education through the Village Kitchen targeting youth and students to share the necessity of healthy eating habits and the value of traditional food, as well as to acquire cooking skills.
The Jeonju Medical Social Cooperative will provide education on diet composition and dietary habit improvement tailored to symptoms for elderly people suffering from adult diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
Additionally, the Kimchi Culture Center, Jeonju Food Hyocheon Branch, and Peace Social Welfare Center will each provide healthy dietary education targeting facility users such as middle-aged male retirees, vegetarians, and grandparent-headed households.
Jeonju City expects that through the operation of the Jeonju-style Village Kitchen, participating citizens will be able to heal their minds tired from COVID-19 and receive help in maintaining health by overcoming adult diseases and improving dietary habits.
