Goheung-gun Lays Foundation for 'Youth Returning to Goheung' Through Business Succession Support

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] On the 18th, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will recruit candidates for the ‘Youth Support for Business Succession’ project targeting young people who will continue their (grand)parents' family business until the 15th of next month.

The ‘Youth Support for Business Succession’ project is designed to alleviate concerns about business succession and encourage young people to settle in the region by supporting the realistic costs necessary for succession in agriculture, livestock, and small-scale industries based on the stable family business foundation of (grand)parents. It also contributes to job creation through the influx of young population.

Eligible recipients are young people aged 19 to 49 as of the application date, whose registered address is in Goheung-gun, and whose (grand)parents are engaged in agriculture, livestock, or small-scale industries, or applicants themselves who have experience in agriculture, livestock, or small-scale industries within 5 years of succession.

After the first document screening and the second on-site inspection of the business, final candidates will be selected through a review committee composed of experts in each field.

Goheung-gun aims to discover a total of 10 young successors and plans to support 20 million KRW per person for installation and repair of agricultural and livestock facilities, improvement of business facilities, and costs necessary for management and promotion, thereby revitalizing the aging region by promoting the influx of young population.

The county plans to do its best to create a Goheung where young people return through customized local job creation such as support for youth employment and start-ups, follow-up programs for youth entrepreneurship, fostering village and social enterprises, support for youth challenge projects, activation of youth CEO marketing, and youth Naeillo and Maeullo projects.

A county official said, “We will continue to actively resolve the difficulties of young people by discovering customized support projects for local youth and respond swiftly to the influx of young population.”
