Gyeongsang National University Student Park Hyung-ryul Receives Korean Society for Precision Engineering 'Best Paper Award'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Park Hyung-ryul, a student at Gyeongsang National University, received the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society for Precision Engineering.
Gyeongsang National University announced on the 18th that Park Hyung-ryul, a senior in the Department of Mechanical Convergence Engineering at the main campus and a member of the Innovative Design and Engineering Applications Laboratory, received the Best Paper Award in the Additive Manufacturing Systems category at the 2021 Fall Academic Conference of the Korean Society for Precision Engineering held last November at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center.
The paper presented by Park Hyung-ryul, titled "Development of a Single-Layer Bistable Double Miura Structure for Application to Soft Actuators," is the first study to research a bistable structure devised by applying the Miura pattern, which is gaining attention as a metamaterial. It demonstrated that by applying this to biomimetic soft actuators, actuators with various shape changes can be fabricated.
