20s Man Arrested and Sent for Prosecution for Sexual Harassment and Nude Photo Blackmail by Pretending to Be a Woman in Random Chat
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 20s who lured men by pretending to be a woman on random chat, drugged them with sleeping pills, sexually assaulted them, and threatened them has been sent to the prosecution in custody.
On the 17th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Kwon (27), who is accused of special robbery and rape under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, filming using cameras, and threats and coercion using filmed materials, to the prosecution in custody.
According to the police, on the evening of the 10th, at a motel in Gwanak-gu, Kwon is accused of giving victim A a hangover relief drink mixed with sleeping pills to make him lose consciousness, then committing quasi-rape, taking nude photos of A while he was naked, and demanding 5 million won in cash, threatening to distribute the photos to A’s family and acquaintances.
Kwon is reported to have met victim A for the first time through a random chat application (app), deceiving him by pretending to be a woman, and drinking together.
The day after the incident, on the 11th, the police, after receiving A’s report, confirmed Kwon’s appearance based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene and began tracking his movements, arresting Kwon near Sadang Station on the afternoon of the 12th.
