Gyeongbuk Sangju-si, Establishment of Production and Distribution Facilities for Field Crop Development Items
Gonggeom Nonghyup Pears and Junghwa Nonghyup Grapes Strengthen Competitiveness with Customization
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk, was finally selected for the Field Crop Joint Management Body Development Support Project on the 16th and will receive 2 billion KRW in project funds.
This project involves receiving 2 billion KRW in funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to establish production and distribution facilities such as farmer organization, sorting systems, and distribution equipment at Gonggeom Nonghyup and Junghwa Nonghyup.
The Field Crop Joint Management Body Development Support Project plans to focus on organizing and scaling up farms centered on major production areas to reduce production costs, produce high-quality agricultural products, and foster integrated marketing participation organizations.
Previously, in August last year, Gonggeom Nonghyup applied for the pear category, and Junghwa Nonghyup applied for the grape category through a public contest. They were finally selected after document and presentation evaluations. As a result, one site has been selected each year from 2017 to 2021, totaling five sites.
The selected organizations are expected to show project effects starting in 2023, when the low-temperature sorting system facility is completed, after capacity building such as farmer consulting and organizational education.
