Geochang-gun Signs Business Agreement with Club D to Foster Future Golf Talents
Promotion of Golf Education for Elementary and Middle School Students
Geochang-gun is signing a business agreement with Club D to nurture future golf talents.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, signed a business agreement on the 15th with YIDO, the operator of the golf club brand CLUB D Geochang, regarding the golf talent development program.
The signing ceremony was attended by Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang-gun, Yoon Hyung-il, general manager of CLUB D Geochang, and officials from YIDO Co., Ltd., who agreed to join hands and cooperate for the successful promotion of the talent development program.
The golf talent development project, starting this year, will provide children, the future leaders, with dreams and hope through the enjoyment of golf. It is designed as a social contribution program to help form proper values such as a spirit of challenge.
Targeting elementary and middle school students interested in golf, the first group will be recruited from March 14, with education planned to begin in April. Each group will consist of about 8 to 10 students, receiving education twice a week for a total of 8 sessions. All education-related costs will be fully covered free of charge, and the program will be held three times a year.
CLUB D, which operates the only official 27-hole course in Gyeongnam, CLUB D Geochang, will be responsible for overall education including field lessons. Geochang-gun will jointly promote recruitment and publicity for the education candidates.
YIDO, the operator of CLUB D Geochang, is an eco-friendly company and the only Value-up specialized platform company in Korea. Besides Geochang, it operates CLUB D courses in Boeun, Songnisan, and Geumgang. The golf talent development program will be conducted simultaneously at all four golf courses.
World-renowned golf legend professional Park Se-ri will participate, sharing various tips with the talents based on her player experience. Additionally, KLPGA and KPGA professionals will serve as coaches for the talents. Applications and detailed information will be announced through the CLUB D website.
Governor Gu In-mo said, “I hope this program becomes a beautiful and precious opportunity for many local youths to experience golf, develop their talents, and nurture their dreams.”
